"Education for Children in Need" is a special UNESCO program which is funded by private donations only. Since 1992 more than 40 million US$ have been collected for this matter by Special Ambassador Dr. h.c. Ute-Henriette Ohoven. The poorest of the poor - street children, victims of war and catastrophes as well as disabled children - in 94 countries have been supported by these donations.

Dr. h.c. Ute-Henriette Ohoven is the only Special Ambassador of the UNESCO worldwide. She has saved needy children´s lives all over the world and has given them a brighter future. She has been called "an exceptionally gifted beggar woman of the upper class". A true expression, as her principle is widely known: "The ones living on the sunny side of life are obliged to help the ones living in the shade.".
